The Magpie Consort

...an eighteen-voice ensemble with wide-ranging and adventurous repertoire, based in Columbus, Ohio.

The Magpies are the pre-show entertainment for the Actor's Theatre production of The Three Musketeers on Saturday, June 20th at 7:30PM. If you still haven't caught our Celtic program come along to Schiller Park in German Village (Columbus) on what promises to be a fine spring evening, hear a little music, and catch a fine play!

celtic voyages

A feast of traditional songs from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Appalachia. Dance tunes, ballads, hymns, airs, waulking songs, broadsides, and a bluegrass style 'Gloria' from Carol Barnett's bluegrass mass. Other arrangements by Percy Grainger, the King's Singers, C V Stanford, Gareth Glyn, Michael McGlynn (of the Irish folk group Anuna), Alice Parker, and Stephen Hatfield.

Celtic Festival

A feast of Celtic song and dance from four Central Ohio groups performing both separately and together: Yankee Celtic Consort, the Columbus Children's Choir, Columbus Celtic Dancers, and the Magpie Consort.
